Readers of the hard copy version of CL may recall a story we published a few weeks ago about the quest that some animal rights activists are involved in to get an anti-tethering ordinance for dogs implemented in Hillsborough County.
Similar ordinances have been passed in a number of cities and counties in Florida over the past couple of years, but Hillsborough remains a hold-out of sorts on the issue. But that may soon be changing. Next Wednesday night at 7 p.m. the County's Animal Advisory group will meet at the County Center (601 E. Kennedy Blvd) in downtown Tampa, and the discussion of such an ordinance will be on the table.
The meeting is open to the public.
