Shocking, shocking, I say, that hate-America liberals suggest George Bush's kin and pals profit off of the war in Iraq. Shame, shame on mongers of such calumny.
But, uh, forget you ever heard the words "Uncle Bucky."
Not much to worry about in that regard, of course. If you rely on Fox News, patriotic reporters such as, oh, "Jeff Gannon," or most mainstream media, you're in little danger of being assaulted by news of Uncle Bucky, a.k.a. William H.T. Bush, a.k.a. Bush 41's bro and Bush 43's unc.
The Los Angeles Times (we know how unpatriotic those Left Coasters are) revealed Feb. 23 that Uncle Bucky (as the current White House occupant calls him), was making oodles of money from no-compete, a.k.a. sweetheart, contracts with the Pentagon.
Uncle Bucky sits on the board of St. Louis-based Engineering Support Systems Inc., a.k.a. ESSI, which amazingly has had fantastic luck in grabbing Pentagon business. The company's revenues and profits have been delightfully soaring since Uncle Bucky joined the board of directors.
The price for Bucky's windfall? Shucks, just 1,500 dead U.S. soldiers and more than 100,000 slain Iraqis. A piffle where Bush family fortunes are concerned.
Bucky, ESSI, the Pentagon and the Republican chorus deny the company's good fortune has anything to do with the Bush godfather in the White House.
If you're very determined, you might find a teensy-weensy story on Bucky buried deep in your daily newspaper, but it won't tell you about the uncle's amazing career built on cronyism.
And, the domestic press isn't about to open a far more dangerous Pandora's box - the Bush family's long, long record of war profiteering. Most certainly you aren't going to read that this blood-drenched family enterprise has its foundation resting solidly on business dealings with Adolph Hitler, relationships that continued after the America entered WWII, and that in 1942 were declared "trading with the enemy."
Those who do challenge the Bushies' penchant for profiteering have faced harsh, career-threatening onslaughts from the GOP's agitprop team. I'm talking about folks such as...
