A 24-year-old Hudson man was arrested at a Spring Hill Kohl's on Wednesday for attempting to shoplift shoes just minutes after he finished a job interview at the same store.

According to a Bay News 9 report, the man went to the shoe department at the conclusion of his interview, and was seen by security personnel selecting a pair of women's shoes without an anti-theft device. The man then went out to his car, came back with the shoes and a Kohl's shopping bag, and grabbed another pair of women's shoes, and left the store. He was apprehended in the parking lot.

When questioned, he said he was going to give the shoes to his mother as a gift.

Another great gift for the folks? Not being arrested for shoplifting after telling 'em you're going out to get a job.
