The Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s annual Corporate Equality Index has given four Tampa Bay companies perfect scores.

According to the TBBJ, Tampa’s Carlton Fields and WellCare join Holland & Knight in Brandon and Clearwater’s Tech Data in becoming a few of the 571 businesses that earned perfect scores in the Human Rights Campaign index.

Three key rating criteria — equitable benefits for LGBTQ workers’ families, non-discrimination policies and supporting an inclusive and corporate social responsibility — are considered.

In a statement, HRC President Chad Griffin lauded the companies’ equality advocacy in the public forum.

“Time and again, leading American businesses have shown that protecting their employees and customers from discrimination isn’t just the right thing to do,” Griffin said. “It’s also good for business.”
