Huntsman to invade Tampa Bay area this Saturday

One man not planning to vote in the GOP presidential primaries nevertheless is sort of singing his praises. Former President Bill Clinton in Aspen over the weekend:

"([Jon] Huntsman hasn’t said what he’s for yet, but I just kinda like him. He looks authentic. He looks like a real guy. I mean, a real human being. [Saved.] I like his family, I like his kind of ... iconoclastic way. And he was a pretty good governor, he wasn’t a right-wing ideologue."

The Sarasota event officially begins at 4 p.m., with Huntsman speaking at 5 p.m. You'll need a ticket for that event, which you access here.

If the GOP nominee for president could be voted on just by member of the press, former Utah Governor and U.S. Ambassador to China Jon Huntman would be sitting pretty right now.

But the early media darling has a long road to hoe for the nomination, because A) he's not that well known, B) is considered a political moderate, not the dominant brand in Republican party politics in 2011.

In any event, Republicans and others interested in Huntsman can get the chance to see him up close and personal this Saturday, as he will make three different appearances.

He begins the morning visiting the Pinellas County Republican Party at 11:30 a.m., comes through Brandon to visit Hillsborough Republicans at 1:30 p.m., and then ends the day at 4:00 p.m. in Sarasota.
