While kidnapping and torture aren't really my bag, I totally get why more than a few men at Fetish Con 2013 wanted to hogtie, gag, strip, then take explicit photos of Angela Sommers in compromising positions. Sommers, herself, wasn't opposed to this possibility.
At the rooftop pool party the first night of Fetish Con, Sommers stood out among the heavily tattooed fetish models — like a sorority girl in Hot Topic. Her nipples poked through a silky white robe that hung slightly open, hinting at her thong beneath. She embodied the American ideal of the busty, blonde bombshell—the image most fetish models try to defy. While it's easy to picture this glamour girl gone wild as a Playboy model, or the May 2012 Penthouse Pet, it's difficult to believe someone as professionally pretty as her would proactively explore the taboo realms of adult modeling. But, hidden beneath her flawless Barbie Doll veneer, Sommers has a dark side, and that dark side is a vampire named Callidora.
You don't have a problem being tied up?
I like it a lot. I first got tied up about a year ago. I got nervous. I had a safe word. It was something really simple like banana. My hands were tied behind my back, my ankles were tied to my thighs, and I was blindfolded and gagged. I really had a hard time with that. The second time was easier and the third time was even easier. By the fourth time I was very comfortable with it. Now I love it, though it depends on who is doing it. They have to know what they are doing and enjoy it. You don't want to work with someone who doesn't want to tie you up. Well I am new to it so I don't really know yet. I like to try things a couple of times to see if I like it. The first time you never really know. It could have been uncomfortable. It could have been the person you were working with. You don't want to rule it out.

Yes. Twice. Not three times. I'm not stupid. So far, everything I've liked. At one point I didn't like anal and then I did it with the right girl and I had a blast. I did, because I was promoting Callidora. I wore it with stockings though because my ass was hanging out and I didn't want to piss anyone off. I'm in a thong practically. Here, at Fetish Con, I can wear a thong. I can be risqué.
In general, have you gotten a sense of the difference between the fetish world and the mainstream porn community?
I've noticed that the fetish world is more of a close nit, tight family. The talent who work together are very close. They watch out for each other. The fans are even more diehard. Some of the more mainstream adult performers have diehard fans, obviously, but it is a smaller percentage. Fetish fans are super diehard. They will follow you and love you forever, but not in a creepy way.

I've noticed that. Some of these famous fetish models get older and bigger, and they are just as popular as ever.
That's what is kind of cool about it. They are really getting appreciated more for what they are doing. I feel like in mainstream, your performance is very importance, but so much more relies on how young you are, how thin you are, how fit you are. It just doesn't focus as much on the performance
That's interesting because mainstream porn is so much more about the visual. Where as in the fetish world, it is more about the psychological, creating a scenario instead of just showing a sex scene. So it makes sense then that they don't mind as much what the performer looks like ... So do you feel like you don't have as much of a leg up here, because you are one of the hottest women here, but you are not nearly as experienced in the fetish world? It's like, "She may be a Penthouse Pet, but how many times has she been hogtied?"
Yes, exactly. I got a little nervous about that. But, also because I am brand new, everyone wants to work with me. But they are going easy on me because they know I am not experienced totally yet, which of course excites some of them because they want to be the first person to break me into a new fetish.
What do you have lined up this weekend?
I have to stop by Penthouse Tampa. I have two shoots that are both superheroine. I don't have a script yet. We may just wing it. They are my friends. It is for their clips4sale site.
Will you be the damsel in distress or the villain?
I always end up being cast as the damsel in distress. Always. I don't mind being the villain, just so far no one has put me in that position.
What was your goal in coming to Fetish Con this year?
Make new connections. Meet the community. I wanted to do half networking and half partying. Well networking is partying, but, half work and half partying.
Who will you party with here?
Well, I didn't party too long last night, so we'll see tonight. It's probably going to be Anastasia Pierce, Jim Weathers, Randy Moore. I've known her for a long time, from way back when we did glamour modeling together.
How would you compare Fetish Con's late night pool party to a mainstream adult industry party in LA?
Oh my God! Way more fun because everyone was just letting loose. I think, for the mainstream parties, everyone is very worried about what they look like or what they are wearing, or this and that.
And here, there is like a guy in the pool next to you in a woman's bathing suit with fake boobs?
Love that. I love it. I mean, here, people care. We all spend time doing hair and makeup, but here, we are half and half on that. We want to have fun and party, and drink, and relax, but no one is really like, "Look at those shoes. Are those Prada?"
Do you think that has to do with the fetish industry, or the fact that the party is here in Tampa as opposed to LA?
No, I think it would be the same. I've partied with a few of the fetish girls in LA and it's the same. I don't think they really worry so much. For them, it is not as much about who you know or what you're wearing.
Do you know how you are going to launch Callidora's story yet?
I don't know yet. Right now it is going to be adult. It is going to be a lesbian, well not lesbian, but you know, a girl/girl superheroine. We have the story outlined. She was a stripper. She gets turned in the strip club. The guy who turned her had been watching her for years. He was an alpha vampire. He finally gets her in the strip club. She gives him a lap dance. He falls in love and wants her for his own. He catches her in her dressing room. He fucks her then turns her. The special thing about it is that he keeps her connected to him because she needs this special elixir that is part of his blood. He can walk in the daylight and he doesn't have to drink human blood. He has all these special powers. If she doesn't take his elixir, she turns into an evil vampire. But if she injects herself every 24 hours, she's good. She's kind of a vigilante, but she turns evil. She is a mix between Selene from Underworld and Blade.
How is feature dancing as Callidora different from dancing as Angela Sommers?
I play gothic music. I am dressed as Callidora. I have a gown for her as well, so I don't necessarily wear all this garb on stage, because it would be a lot to strip off. Usually the shtick is people want to get bitten. I have to go very light. I have to pull them and just graze them with my teeth. One guy came back the next day during a three-day stop. He was so excited. He showed me where I had left two red streaks. I was like, "I'm so sorry." He was like, "No, I loved it." I might have drank a little too much before I did that bite, but they usually like being bitten.
Have you ever drawn blood with your fangs?
No. I've bitten people but I've made sure not to draw blood.
Has anyone wanted you to draw blood?
Yes.
During your medical fetish show with Anastasia Pierce, will there be fake blood everywhere?
No. I don't think we can do any blood. I don't think it's legal.
Fake blood is illegal?
Yeah, you can't use it for anything that is sex related. I don't know why. For some reason mainstream movies get to use blood, but in porn, they totally don't want any kind of blood, not even for a bite. I was just having this conversation yesterday with a friend who produces a lot of superheroine stuff. He couldn't use red for the bite marks for a vampire scene, so he was going to use black icing so at least you could see that there were marks. We have to figure out ways to work around that.
Do they have a shower at the club or do you just bring baby wipes? I've seen some feature dancing performances at The Castle get pretty messy.
I've never done a messy show. Well, I mean, we're using alcohol. Plus the hotel is very close, or we can just go in the bathroom and freshen up. We are very aware too. We are not going to like put it all over our outfits. We'll do it right. We think about those things.
Have you named your vagina yet?
No. What would you name it.
I would give it a guy's name, like Mr. Humpledinker.

Yeah. He was okay with it. I just chose not to. So when everyone heard that we broke up, all of the talent texted me, asking me, "So are you going to do boy/girl now?" Even my agent was like, "What's your contract going to be now?"
That must have been the worst break up ever. You're splitting up and you get a flood of text messages asking if you want to start fucking men on camera."
