It's who you know

Before award-winning journalist Bob Greene rubbed elbows with super-friends like Michael Jordan — profiled in his best-selling book, Hang Time — Greene grew up with a group of buddies with whom he would ultimately forge life-long friendships. In his latest book, And You Know You Should be Glad, Greene tells the tale of the ties he made in his Ohio hometown and how, once woven into his life, these ties would never be broken. Formerly a syndicated columnist for the Chicago Tribune, Green has written for Life and Esquire magazines, served as a contributing correspondent for ABC News Nightline, and is currently a regular contributor for the New York Times. His appearance at Largo Library is presented as part of its Outstanding Authors Series. Sat., March 17, 1 p.m., 120 Central Park Drive, Largo, $10, 727-586-7398.
