It's a rare event when a local member of Congress gets on prime-time cable news. Think about it - I think Vern Buchanan was on Morning Joe one day last fall, but the Tampa Bay area congressional delegation aren't generally that high-profile enough to get some choice camera time (Dennis Ross, Gus Bilirakis, Bill Young. When are they ever on?)
So it was notable when Tampa's Kathy Castor made an appearance tonight on MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthews. Castor was on the show to talk about her concerns about what the sequester has done to certain domestic social programs, such as Head Start.
