Keep Hillsborough County Beautiful is looking for "Beach Watchers" to report early warning signs of the oil spill reaching the Tampa Bay area.

If you see tar or oiled debris on the beach, please call 877-389-8932 or dial #DEP from your cell phone. Remember, do not touch oiled or injured wildlife. You should report it to 866-557-1401. Everyone is advised to AVOID contact with tar balls or oiled debris on the beach.

Put your name on the Keep Hillsborough County Beautiful emergency volunteer response list.  KHCB will be given approximately 72 hours notice before the oil spill hits.  It is essential to collect as much litter and marine debris as possible to prevent it from being coated in oil and becoming hazardous material.  If litter is allowed to collect or absorb the oil, it can cause problems for years to come.
