This morning in Bradenton, former Florida First Lady Rhea Chiles and her sons Bud and Ed will endorse Kendrick Meek for U.S. Senate.

Lawton Chiles of course served as governor in Florida from 1994-1998, and three terms in the U.S. Senate before that.  His son Bud has been rumored to have political ambitions  but so far has been content to have a bully pulpit as executive director of the Lawton Chiles Foundation.

On Saturday, CL sat down with Kendrick Meek to discuss his, let's face it, very little known campaign for the Democratic nomination.  As we focus on in the upcoming issue of CL, Meek is still extremely little known in Florida (according to a Quinnipiac poll, 71 percent of those surveyed last week said they wanted to know more about Meek – virtually unchanged since last October).
