In the wake of blowhard presidential candidate Donald Trump's call to ban Muslims from entering the U.S., St. Pete Mayor Rick Kriseman tweeted — sarcastically, of course — that he will adopt a similar policy toward Trump should he seek to make an appearance in the Sunshine City.
I am hereby barring Donald Trump from entering St. Petersburg until we fully understand the dangerous threat posed by all Trumps.

It didn't take long for Twitter to respond.
Within two and a half hours, the tweet had been shared more than 2,500 times, and scores of people responded.
Many got a good chuckle, and some even said the tweet may inspire them to pay St. Pete a visit soon, given how cool the mayor is for taking a stand against bigotry.
This isn't the first time the mayor has thumbed his nose at a right-wing denizen. Months ago, when conspiracy theory-crazed pundit Glenn Beck called St. Pete a place to avoid because of its lack of religious conservatives, Kriseman called the designation "an honor" in a Facebook post.
We're curious as to how Trump's campaign will respond; but we're pretty sure he'll call St. Petersburg "unsuccessful" for not being a big, fancy city like New York or something equally asinine, which we'd take as a compliment, coming from him.
Here are some reactions to Kriseman's post:
