Not the deer in question, but you get the idea.

We’ve still got two weeks until Christmas, but Thomas Lessing is in the holiday spirit — too bad an unexpected visitor to his home was not. The Land ‘O Lakes resident arrived home from a business trip on Tuesday and found his front door broken in, so he naturally called the authorities.

Pasco County sheriff deputies arrived and looked around before noticing something was in the bathroom.

“We look underneath the door and I could see something moving,” Lessing told BN9. “The deputy slowly went to turn the door, and then a deer pops its head out.”

He and the deputy let the thing out of the bathroom’s back door and then eventually discovered that the deer had damaged some of Lessing’s Christmas village collection.

“I was relieved somebody didn’t break into the house, but at the same time, I was shocked that one of Santa’s reindeer decided to come hang out at the house at Christmas time,” Lessing said.
