Game two of the Eastern Conference final had some of everything. There was great goaltending at times, there was goal scoring, there was a rookie who continued to excel in these playoffs, and there was a furious comeback. But for the Tampa Bay Lightning, the one thing there was not was a victory, as the Bruins tied the series at one game a piece, holding off a late Lightning charge and winning 6-5.
The game got off to a picture perfect start for the Lightning, as Adam Hall struck just 13 seconds into the contest for his first goal of the postseason. From there, it was all Boston the rest of the period, including the tying goal from Lightning killer Nathan Horton on the tail end of a 5-3 power play advantage for Boston at the 13:58 mark of the period.
The Lightning struck back though, putting almost the perfect bookend on the period when Steven Stamkos centered the puck to Marty St. Louis in front of the net, who deflected it home to give the Lightning a 2-1 lead with 7 seconds left in the period.
