While the news of Amy Winehouse's death at the too-young age of 27 was shocking, it wasn't exactly surprising. The soul revival songstress may not have OD'd — the autopsy results were inconclusive — but considering her very public history of hardcore drug abuse, she likely did irreparable damage to her body and overall physical health. Regardless of her bad habits, her music stood on its own merits and 2007's multiple Grammy-winning Back in Black was a masterful combination of '60s Motown soul and modern R&B production that left a long-lasting impression and helped launch a new revival of that neo-retro sound. This free tribute is hosted by D'Visitors, the Nikki Ferraro-fronted jazz, funk, rock, soul, ska and Latin music outfit, with support and guest spots by various locals — Dynasty, The Rukus, Monica Delgado and The Gwanmassive Crew.
