Livin' in Paradise

Charlie Souza and the New Tropics

Redington Beach's Charlie Souza is a multi-instrumentalist/singer/producer whose three-decade run in the music industry includes his current gig with The New Rascals ("Good Lovin'"). On the 10-track album Livin' in Paradise, Souza delivers originals like the breezy, Buffett-esque ode to Tampa Bay called "Carry Me Back," a horn-laced cover of the Eddie Cochran classic "Summer Time Blues" and a hip-hop/funk/jazz number titled "Comin' Afta You" that just rings false. 2.5 stars
