Lough and Load

Music Thursday, December 13

If you're tired of the same ol' Christmas carols and "Silent Night" makes you want to stab your own eyes out with candy canes, then check out a unique Celtic Christmas concert at the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center this Thursday evening. The award-winning Boys of the Lough — a Celtic supergroup featuring musicians like "All-Ireland" champion Cathal McConnell and "Fiddler of the Year" Kevin Henderson — play a holiday program of pagan winter songs and instrumentals paired with Irish and Scottish storytelling. With more than 30 years of experience in traditional music, 60 U.S. tours, 20 albums and two Grammy nominations, the Boys of the Lough are sure to present a compelling show of song. Thurs., Dec. 13, 7:30 p.m., 324 Pine St., Tarpon Springs, $28-$30, 727-942-5605, tarponarts.org.
