Political writers and commentators are notorious for hyping up political debates that more often than not turn out to be duds. Let's hope that's not the case with tonight's U.S. Senate forum scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight, moderated by ABC's George Stephanopoulos.
Yesterday morning we hung out with Republican Congressional candidate Mike Prendergast and about 50 of his supporters, as they protested against his Democratic incumbent Kathy Castor's reluctance to engage him in a one-on-one debate so far this fall. CL also asked Prendergast about what some might call a "push-poll" that he's using in contacting voters in the district.
The Tampa Tribune has a new story in today's editions on the latest on the Jim Norman front, courtesy of the man who is doggedly trying to get him thrown off the ballot, his vanquished GOP opponent in August's primary for the Senate District 12 race, Kevin Ambler.
And one of the biggest local political forums of the season, with over 40 candidates scheduled to appear from all across Tampa Bay, takes place this Sunday.
