Tampa City Councilwoman Mary Mulhern has announced today that she's running for re-election in Tampa's citywide District 2 race next March. The news came to us from her new campaign manager, Kevin Wren (UPDATE: Mary Mulhern tells us that Wren is helping out with her campaign, but as of this time is not her manager).
Though not a surprise, Mulhern had not announced her plans as recent as a week ago, though she told CL that she was strongly leaning towards re-election, where currently her only opponent is Scott Dale Strepina.
Mulhern spoke to CL last week about some of the things she has learned in her first time on Council, as well as offering advise to some of the more idealistic candidates in the race. That article is in the current issue of CL, and we will post it online soon, hopefully later today.
