Meek and Greene agree to debate in Palm Beach County - will rest of the state be able to see it?

Acting relatively quickly (as CL suggested ten days ago) to Democratic Senate hopeful Jeff Greene's call for a debate, the Kendrick Meek team says they will debate Greene on Tuesday, June 22nd.

The news, first printed in the Palm Beach Post, says that Meek and Greene are contacting local Palm Beach county television stations hoping that one will want to air such a debate.

However, it looks like there's been no invitation given to former Miami Mayor Maurice Ferre, who had been the lone Democratic challenger to Meek until Greene stepped last month to oppose the front-running Congressman.

This is a positive development for Meek with really no downside - unless he's out argued by the neophyte candidate in 15 days time.  It will attract a lot of media attention on the Democratic race, and also prepare Meek for future debates if he becomes the nominee against Marco Rubio and Charlie Crist.
