Meek's post victory euphoria interrupted - local teamster groups announce their support for Charlie Crist

As Kendrick Meek begins the serious work he needs to do to peel off Florida Democrats who have announced their betrothal to Charlie Crist, it wasn't exactly the news he wanted to hear Wednesday morning, but that's life.

A group of five Teamsters locals have announced that they are endorsing the independent in the U.S. Senate race, citing a commitment by Crist to create jobs.  Those were Local 79 in Tampa, Local 173 in Bradenton, Local 385 in Orlando and Local 947 in Jacksonville.

And Teamsters Local 79 in Mobile, Alabama that represents members in the Panhandle also came out to support Crist.

That local's President, Ken Wood, lavished praise on the Governor, saying, "He stood up for President Obama's stimulus package when he thought it would help working families in Florida, even though he took a lot of flak from his own party for doing so."
