Thanksgiving this year takes place early – in less than three weeks- on November 22. And with the holiday season just around the corner, this is the time when the folks over at Metropolitan Ministries kick into high gear to help out those in need.
But there's a difference this year – because of construction of a new housing facility on N. Florida Avenue, there is no room for where the agency's holiday tent usually stands every year where families in need can go and get registered to be eligible for meals and/or Christmas toys for children this year. The tent is also where people can drop off donations.
The social service agency wants to get the word out that they have moved their tent to 400 West Palm Avenue, and donations can now be dropped off there.
For families in need, they can now get registered at Metropolitan Ministries Outreach Center at 2301 Tampa Street, and a host of other locations (listed after the jump).
Metropolitan Ministries expects to provide holiday assistance to 25,900 families, and 26,190 children for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
