Mitch Perry Report 12.15.11

Good morning everybody.

We'll lead off today with our story on Florida GOP Senate candidate Craig Miller, who we had previously encountered back in July when he made his fly-through across the state to announce his candidacy. Like Herman Cain, Miller served some time as head of the National Restaurant Association, but apparently didn't have as much fun in that gig.

Predictably after a Washington D.C. agency advocated that all of the states ban cell phone use in automobiles, politicians in Florida blasted the very notion of it, decrying it as a form of Big Brotherism.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, who some in the GOP have wanted to fire since early on in the Obama administration, will probably stoke more conservative fervor after his speech on Tuesday night against new election laws like Florida's that critics say will suppress the (Democratic) vote next November.

And who knew so many gave a darn about garbage in Tampa/Hillsborough County?
