Happy New Year to CL readers everywhere! It's good to be back in the saddle.

In the political world, it's all about Iowa. You can get our take here on the latest ups and down in that Midwestern state that every four years gets to have a disproportionate influence on who our candidates for president will be.

Though all the hype is about Iowa, the fact of the matter is that Florida will get its day to weigh in on the GOP candidates in just a little over four weeks, and if you want to participate in that election and you're not currently a registered Republican, you've still got a couple of days to remedy that.

And regarding the January 31 presidential primary in Florida, lots of Republicans nationally are still pissed that the state once again moved up its voting date earlier without serious consequences. But in fact there is a way that Republicans can challenge that result.
