Happy Monday to you all.
What a weekend it was: presidential debates, David Bowie tribute concerts, and at least one competitive NFL playoff game!
Our charge is politics, of course, so we were tuned into both debates over the weekend. Yesterday's 90-minute affair on Meet The Press was fun to watch if for no other reason than to hear Newt Gingrich denounce as "pious baloney" Mitt Romney's protestations that he's not a career politician.
But we were much more exercised watching Saturday night's affair. Ron Paul, still in second place in the polls going into tomorrow night's primary in New Hampshire, was impressive.
Rick Perry, on the other hand? Not so much.
Late Friday afternoon, we met up with Polk County state Senator Paula Dockery, a huge fan of former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman, who may be in his last days as a candidate unless he comes up big tomorrow night. She's sad that a candidate who believes in science is so out of style with her own political party.
