Later today the House of Representatives will vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act (a/k/a/ "ObamaCare), the 33rd time they've voted on a part or all of the controversial legislation.
While being derided by the mainstream media for what ultimately will be a fruitless vote (the measure will lose if Senate Democrats even vote on it), there maybe more urgency for House Republicans to again dominate a news cycle by condemning the bill.
And that is because there appears to be some softening in the opposition to it. A new Washington Post/ABC News poll shows that the legislation is now viewed less negatively than it was before the court ruling, with 47 percent supporting the law and 47 percent opposing it. In April only 39 percent backed the Affordable Care Act while 53 percent opposed it.
On the campaign trail yesterday, both Mitt Romney and Barack Obama are accusing each other of being the kings of outsourcing jobs.
Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn is back in town this morning after speaking to Politico in Washington D.C. yesterday regarding the city's preparations in hosting the Republican National Convention next month. When asked by Politico's Mike Allen that he gave "Occupy the Heisman," hizzoner replied "I didn't let them occupy much of anything." Read all about it here.
And Vern Buchanan is in a dogfight against Democrat Keith Fitzgerald in the most competitive Congressional race in the state this year. Buchanan and his supporters celebrated yesterday when he was exonerate by a House Ethics panel; however, Vern's legal troubles are far from over.
