Good morning and welcome to Day Two of the Tampa RNC, the first day where there'll be more than 10 minutes of actual business conducted in the Tampa Bay Times Forum.
Yesterday there were two major protests scheduled. Though certainly robust and at times intense, the Coalition To March on the RNC promised big numbers, and didn't deliver.
There was also the March For our Lives which took place later in the day that was interrupted by a driving rainstorm.
Conventions bring out a lot of reporter-on-reporter stories, especially where there's a void in actual news to cover. CL's Arielle Stevenson did her turn yesterday speaking with CNN's Candy Crowley.
Back in January Newt Gingrich said he'd be going "all the way to Tampa," meaning he would be the GOP nominee this week. Well, he's in Tampa all right, but the stakes are considerably lower.
