Gulf Coast Museum of Art young professionals group Les Fauves holds its monthly mixer this Saturday night and invites the art-loving public to come out to the museum and enjoy a variety of amusements. Local artist Roby MacDougall produces caricatures for willing subjects, Les Fauves members oversee a scavenger hunt with prizes for the winning participants, and singer-songwriter Lorna Bracewell performs throughout. In addition, guests are encouraged to create an objet trouvé (ready-made) sculpture with inspiration provided by Reflexiones Intimas, an exhibit in which Chilean Vero Beach artist Pablo Siebel uses rusting metal, wooden pallets and a myriad of other found materials to express his thoughts on South-American culture. Guests can also check out Evolution of Movement, a series of large, vibrant abstract acrylics by the late William Oliver. A fondue station and a cash bar featuring the GCM-artini round out the festivities. Sat., Aug. 18, 7-10 p.m., with the works on display through Oct. 14, Gulf Coast Museum of Art, 12211 Walsingham Road, Largo, free admission to the event, 727-518-6833, gulfcoastmuseum.org.
