New poll has McCollum, Meek up; Wayne Garcia to work for Amendment 4, and could Tampa soon have direct flights to Havana? Mitch Perry Report 8.18.10

Quinnipiac has their last poll up before next Tuesday's primary, and it shows the establishment dudes, Bill McCollum & Kendrick Meek, holding off their mega-rich opponents.

The man who used to own this hollowed ground,  Wayne Garcia, is getting back into politics.  The former Political Whore columnist is now teaming up with Democratic political consultant Mitch Kates to aid in the Florida Hometown Democracy Movement's cause at the polls this November.

We didn't get to it yesterday, but there are two new polls out in the very contested Democratic race for Attorney General.

And Obama administration officials say it could be soon when they announce a loosening of travel restrictions to Cuba, and Tampa officials hope it's good news for their town.
