New poll has Scott up by 5% over Sink; What will Charlie do about a judge declaring SB 360 unconstitutional, and can we have some understanding for Bill McCollum? Mitch Perry Report 8.27.10

A New Rasmussen poll shows Rick Scott with a slight lead over Alex Sink, with Bud Chiles still getting a nice 8% of the vote.  Meanwhile, Scott and RPOF chair John Thrasher got together, and Thrasher said essentially it was a beautiful thing.

Remember when Charlie Crist was declared by the media as an exemplar of a Republican who got the environment, like Michael Bloomberg (now an independent) and Arnold Schwarzenegger?  In the wake of a judge declaring SB 360 yesterday, it reminded us of when Charlie began to stop caring so much for the environment.  Oh yeah, that's right, it's when Marco Rubio started challenging him for the GOP Senate seat.

Loranne Ausley and Jeff Atwater are your candidates to replace Alex Sink for CFO, and Ausley got out of the gate quickly yesterday in blasting Atwater, leading to GOP claims that the "tax and spend liberal" has already gone negative.

And Bill McCollum is still not ready to endorse Rick Scott.  We give thumbs up to a little honesty in this sometimes sincerity free zone called an election year.
