Next High Speed Rail regional meeting to take place in Tampa July 19

This is the second such meeting this year.  The first took place back in Lakeland in March.

It also comes on the same day that HART, the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority, will be holding a meeting where the discussion of light rail possibly going to Tampa International Airport will take place, at 8:30 a.m.

(That's also the same day that the Tampa City Council is scheduled to hear pitches by the various candidates applying to replace John Dingfelder and Linda Saul-Sena, and ultimately choose their replacements).

The Tampa Bay Business Journal's Alexis Muellner's is the first to report that the next Regional meeting regarding High Speed Rail will take place in Tampa on Monday, July 19 at 9:00 a.m.

The focus of the meeting scheduled for July 19 at 9 a.m. at the Tampa Convention Center is “our ‘Federal Partners.’” It is slated to include participation by members of Florida’s Congressional delegation and is being hosted by Sen. Bill Nelson, Rep. Kathy Castor and Iorio. The Florida Department of Transportation and the Florida Rail Enterprise are sponsoring the event.

Also invited to participate are a dozen or more other local members of Congress.
