The nation observes the 10th anniversaty of the 9/11 attacks with tastful pageantry and solemn reflection, then douses itself in Budweiser and NFL opening-day action. And yes, the Bucs lost to the Lions 27-20. (Like you had to ask.)

The Rays move to 3.5 games back in the wild card chase after beating the visiting Red Sox 9-1. It's good to see Boston getting back to their 1918-2003 form.


CNN and the Tea Party team for a Republican debate in Tampa that makes news primarily for the savage and bloodthirsty nature of the attacks. And that was just the audience.


Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich pays a visit to Lowry Park Zoo. He's hoping to at least get the elephant vote.
