Thanks to a multi-billion-dollar war on Iran, there’s an Epstein-sized hole in the discourse around Donald Trump lately, but that’s sure to be addressed this weekend across the country for yet another “No Kings” day of action.
Nearly a year after the first protest against the authoritarian instincts of the president, libs, concerned Republicans, and clout-hungry content creators on both sides of the aisle have regularly flooded busy intersections across the Bay area to wave signs, get honked at and be together in solidarity.
Organizers of the actions—which are nonviolent at their core—ask participants to de-escalate any confrontations and act within the law. There are multiple events happening in Tampa, Temple Terrace, Brandon, Sun City Center, and in Pinellas, too, from Clearwater to St. Petersburg where members of multiple groups will gather at the Tyrone intersections to be heard.
“We are proud to stand with people from all walks of life to peacefully protest,” Jackie Azis, President of the League of Women Voters of the St. Petersburg Area wrote in a statement. “While protesting alone will not bring change, there is power in demonstrating. We will unite and rise to preserve our freedoms and our democracy in the face of this ongoing constitutional crisis.”
According to nokings.com, close to two dozen actions are planned from Lakeland to Largo, Spring Hill, South Hillsborough and everywhere in between.
Based on past turnout, thousands are expected to attend.
