Well, we hope you enjoyed last night's State of the Union address Florida, though unlike last year, you didn't get any $1.25 billion gift for high-speed rail — so in that respect it might have been a letdown.
We're not huge fans of the genre, but it would be malpractice not to observe — and what I observed was Barack Obama sounding like a certain Cuban-American Senator from the Sunshine State in his attention to American exceptionalism.
We watched the SOTU as we were working up this post on a candidates' forum in Tampa's Seminole Heights yesterday featuring 21 different candidates for city council and mayor. All of those men and women got to speak for a grand total of five minutes.
