Mitt Romney has scheduled an appearance Tuesday in New York City with firefighters and former Mayor Rudy Giuliani to mark the one-year anniversary of Osama bin Laden's death.
The presumptive GOP presidential candidate was asked on the campaign trail on Monday a rather silly, but relevant question: If he had been in charge a year ago, would he have made the daring call to have a Navy SEALs team go into Pakistan's territory (without informing Pakistan) to assassinate Osama bin Laden?
"Of course. Even Jimmy Carter would have given that order," Romney snorted when asked in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
But when President Obama was asked about Romney's comment a short time later during a mini press-conference with Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda, he compared Romney's 2007 comments about getting the Al Qaeda mastermind with his more recent remarks.
