There's so much going on in Safety Harbor this May Days Weekend that I don't even know where to begin. Perhaps with the free May Days Festival at the Safety Harbor Marina (131 S. Bayshore Blvd.) on Friday night, which features a performance by recent Bon Jovi openers Among the Thirsty, and an outdoor screening of Zathura, the Jumanji pseudo-sequel about two brothers and a board game that sucks them into space (6-10 p.m.). The wine and beer stands open Saturday, food and craft vendors offer their fare and wares, and fest attendees sip to the sounds of live music by Blinky & Fritz, Patty Sanphy & Women's Blues Revue, and Slick Willy (1-10 p.m.). Also occurring Saturday is the Safety Harbor Sprints: the Bay 5K (7:30 a.m., $15) and Main Street Mile (8:30 a.m., $8), with registration starting one hour prior, and a post-race party to follow. An all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast with juice, coffee and sausage opens Sunday's events ($3, Rigsby Recreation Center, 605 Second St. N.). Afterwards, fast-breakers can walk off the calories while shopping at the free May Days Arts & Crafts Festival (10 a.m.-4 p.m., Main Street).
