This Tuesday night in St. Petersburg there will be a major discussion on the Deepwater Horizon gulf spill at The Palladium Theatre from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., sponsored in part by Repower America and Clean Energy Works.
The event will be broken into three one-hour discussions. From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. the discussion is entitled "About the Spill" and will feature Bill Hogarth, Dean of the USF College of Marine Sciences, D.T. Minich from Visit St. Pete/Clearwater, and geophysical engineer Dan Berard.
From 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. the discussion moves into media perspectives on the crises, and will feature Rob Lorei from WMNF, editorial writer John Hill of the St. Pete Times, Preston Rudie of WTSP-Channel 10, environmental reporter Jan Hollingsworth and yours truly.
From 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., the subject is Solutions. The panelists will be Cynthia Sarthou from the Gulf Restoration Network, Susan Glickman from the Florida Business Network for a Clean Energy Economy, David Friedman from the Union of Concerned Scientists and David Pettit from the Natural Resources Defense Council.
