Now in its fourth year, the Ybor Festival of the Moving Image offers plenty to do aside from the usual schedule of screenings. In addition to related art exhibits, installations, concerts, and theater and dance presentations, a 45-foot screen has been erected in Centennial Park and locals are invited to bring the brood for Friday's Family Night at the Movies. The event includes a shorts program of comedies and animations as well as two short films (The Sun's Gonna Shine and Yum, Yum, Yum!) by the fest's Tampa-born guest of honor, Les Blank. On Saturday afternoon, restaurant chefs, self-proclaimed chefs and creative cooks compete to find out who has the best garlic recipe in the Yum Yum Garlic Cook-Off. Celebrity judges (including Blank) pick the winners, though attendees can sample some of the entries while perusing goods at the concurrently occurring Saturday Market. For further film details, see this week's Film Feature. Fri., April 7, 7-10 p.m., and Sat., April 8, noon-4 p.m., Centennial Park, Eighth Avenue and 18th Street, Ybor City, free admission to both events, 813-253-7674, www.yborfilmfestival.com.
