Pastor Terry Jones to burn 2,998 Korans on 9/11 in Tampa?

Jones told WTSP in Tampa last month that he intends to move his Dove World Outreach Center to the Bay area.

"We're looking actually in the Tampa Bay area to greatly expand our work, continue to speak out on those issues as I said, radical Islam, same sex marriage, and abortion. We're looking at possibly getting involved in some kind of TV work," said Jones.

The website The Blaze reported that Jones mentioned Tampa as a potential location for his latest bid for attention.

Of course, if you go by the reaction the last time he held an event in Tampa, it's hard not to wonder why he would come here again. That October 2010 event brought out all of 10 people.

Remember Terry Jones? The Gainesville-based pastor who informed the media that he was going to burn Korans on the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks — and then didn't burn them?

He's been able to keep himself in the news every so often, and now he's done it again. He announced via his Stand Up America Facebook page that he will commemorate the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks by burning 2,998 Korans.

And there's word that he might want to set up this little conflagration in Tampa.
