The Polk County School Board, desperate to find more badly needed school bus drivers, dropped the requirement that applicants have a high school diploma or GED. Somewhere, Alanis Morissette smiled knowingly and put her pen to a coffeehouse napkin.

There's a depression in New Port Richey. No, I said "a" depression. We all knew about the other thing.

And finally, a St. Petersburg woman whose cat was mutilated believes someone in her neighborhood is killing pets, despite the authorities' determination that it was a coyote attack. When was the last time you thought to yourself, "God, I hope it's a coyote"? Either way, keep a close eye on your pets and environment, St. Petersburg.
