Our friends at St.PetePolls.org released new polls that show some state and county races in Pinellas to be neck-and-neck, with others not so close.

The nascent pollsters released two versions of their surveys — one of registered voters, the other of what they are calling "active voters," similar to the breakdown in state and national polls that sample likely voters vs. registered voters.

For the purposes of our post, we'll give you the numbers from "active voters" survey, but you can get the complete breakdown at St.PetePolls.org.

In the Congressional District 13 race, Republican incumbent Bill Young is leading Democrat Jessica Ehrlich 54-38 percent. In the 21 times prior that Young has run for office, only once has a Democrat received more than 40 percent of the vote.

The two fierce County Commission races show Democratic challengers Janet Long and Charlie Justice in slight leads over their GOP incumbent opponents — Neil Brickfield in District 1 and Nancy Bostock in District 3.

St. Pete Polls shows Long ahead of Brickfield 46-43 percent, and Justice ahead of Bostock 47-43 percent.
