The stink around the move by Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi to fire two of her foreclosure fraud investigators is not going away.
The two attorneys helped expose robo-signing and helped shut down so-called “foreclosure mills," but were let go by Bondi's office in May. After laying low for a few days as this story broke last week, Bondi issued a statement last Thursday saying the two were ousted because of poor performance.
But the attorneys, Theresa Edwards and June Clarkson, say otherwise. And now people are paying attention.
On Wednesday, Orlando House Democrat Darren Soto (D-Orlando) wrote a letter to Bondi, requesting public documents related to the job performance of Edwards and Clarkson, and information on cases they were working on.
