Can we agree for a moment to make generalizations? May I have the liberty to typecast, stereotype, and to do all the things that would get me run out of a bar in Portland, Oregon?
Humor me.
My gut feeling is talking to me. I am quite certain that gay men are not all vapid. I am also equally sure that its possible to be a creative gay male without donning a stereotypically flashy wardrobe. Ive admittedly had extreme moments of vapidity while wearing an ensemble that would have made Warhol proud. But as I stand today and look to the east, west, north, and south I wonder…why as a gay musician do I always feel so much pressure to glam it up? If lesbians can keep it real, why cant we?
