Yesterday chief Obama political strategist David Axelrod made the bold bet with MSNBC's Joe Scarborough that he would shave off his signature mustache if somehow his candidate were to lose in Minnesota, Michigan and Pennsylvania, three states that haven't gone for a Republican in a presidential election in years, if not decades.

But supporters of Mitt Romney insist that their candidate's momentum is expanding the electoral map, which if true could make the difference in who wins next week's contest.

Now comes news that a conservative-leaning Super PAC will invest money in those three states as well as two others (including Florida) in the waning days of the campaign.

The 60 Plus Association, which labels itself as the "conservative alternative to the liberal AARP," today launched a new $4.1 million ad campaign in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida and Michigan. The group is running a new ad called "Defend" in four of the five states, but Florida will continue to see the group's previous ad, called "Strengthen," featuring their national spokesman, Pat Boone.
