Holiday Tribute Gift Program
H. Lee Moffitt offers this program as a meaningful way to recognize and honor family, friends, employees and clients. For a minimum $25 per honoree, Moffitt will make a donation in their name and send a personalized holiday card notifying the honoree of the gift. RCS Food Pantry Donations
The Religious Community Services Food Pantry gives groceries to more than 3,000 people each month. RCS programs The Haven and Grace House also need volunteers, food and other items. 727-443-4031.

Metropolitan Ministries
MetMin, which feeds thousands of homeless and poverty-stricken locals each month, has opened its annual holiday tent to receive donations. This year, MetMin needs to collect 730,000 pounds of assorted foods, 9,900 turkeys, 63,250 new toys and stocking stuffers, and more than $3-million to provide for needy families. Meals on Wheels Holiday Appeal
Meals on Wheels, does not accept or receive government funding. All contributions can be sent to Meals on Wheels of Tampa, 550 W. Hillsborough Ave., Tampa, FL 33603. For information, call Bruce Hepp at 813-238-8410.

Salvation Army Opportunities
The Salvation Army needs gifts for its Angel Tree program (which provides gifts for poverty-stricken children); food donations for Christmas dinner (feeds hundreds of local, poverty-stricken families); and operable, used cars, boats, campers and RVs (for its Adult Rehabilitation Center — great tax deduction!). Leukemia & Lymphoma Calendar
Coiffeur Inga Salon and Salmon Studios have created a 12-month calendar, featuring local celebrities and blood-related cancer patients, to benefit the Suncoast Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Calendars go on sale Dec. 1 at the Carrollwood Sertoma Club's first Holiday Tree Lighting, 5-8 p.m. at the Colonial Promenade Shopping Center. All proceeds benefit the society. Brookwood Holiday Helpers
Brookwood Florida, a therapeutic group home for 52 girls (ages 11-21) victimized by abuse, neglect or family dysfunction, seeks volunteers to fulfill the girls' holiday wish lists. Call Laura Onagan at 727-822-4789 for more information.

The Great Teddy Bear Round Up

Homes for Pets
The Humane Society of North Pinellas aims to help animals find a home before the holidays with its first annual Light the Way Home, program. Purchase a light for $15, and attend a kick-off lighting ceremony 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5. Lights can be purchased throughout the holiday season. Brighter Seasons for Children
This six-year-old Hospice program fulfills two wishes each for children whose parents are infected with HIV/AIDS. Ornaments inscribed with each child's (ages infant to 18) can be found at various locations. New, unwrapped gifts are required. Call 813-895-8358 or 813-468-0236.

Christmas Wish List
The Joshua House, a group care and shelter facility for abused and/or neglected kids, has recently released a wish list detailing the needs of the 60 children currently residing in the facility. Hospice Support
LifePath Hospice and Palliative Care offer a one-session family grief support group and an ongoing Spanish support group during December to help families deal with grief through the holidays. The one-night session takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17; the Spanish group takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21; both held at LifePath Hospice, 3010 W. Azeele St., Tampa. Christmas Wish Kick-off
U92's Morning Show host, Mason Dixon, invites Tampa Bay residents to write a Christmas Wish letter describing friends or family members who are in need.
