We're not certain about all the details yet, but CL has learned that Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood will visit Tampa on April 11 for a Safety Bike Summit that will take place at the Tampa Convention Center.
The summit will highlight the city's upcoming bike sharing program, which Tampa officials announced earlier this month.
It will also feature an invitation only policy summit about enforcement, built environment/planning, and education.
LaHood, who last appeared in Tampa in November for a day-long conference about distracted driving, was supposed to be back in Illinois and out of government by now — he announced his intentions last year to leave the administration after the November election, but President Obama has yet to name his successor.
