Former St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Baker has just published a new book that is perfect for those about to become a mayor of a big city.  It's called The Seamless City, and you can read the first part of a two part interview we conducted with the former mayor last week here.

Speaking of St. Pete, we were down on the south side yesterday morning for another story we're working on when we contemplated checking out former Governor Charlie Crist, who was speaking at noon at Stetson University College of Law.  We opted out, but did get a chance to see the Governor as video of his apology to musician David Byrne for using an old Talking Heads song hit the Internet.

Over the years in Florida, over a dozen men have been wrongly convicted of crimes due to witness misidentification.  A new bill being proposed this year in Tallahassee is trying to remedy that, but it was weakened yesterday in committee.

And this Friday is tax day - April 15.  In addition to a big Tea Party rally in Tampa, activists who yearn for a bill that would allow for citizens to recall our state elected officials will gather in St. Pete.
