Rick Scott has until the end of the week to decide on whether he will approve or reject the SunRail commuter rail project in the Orlando area.
As reported by Janet Zink in the St. Pete Times, The $1.28 billion, 61.5-mile commuter line was discussed yesterday in Orlando, and the state's head of Transportation, Ananth Prasad, told officials at that meeting that the state will not cover operational costs after the first 7 years.
However, if approved, the state is already committed to spending more money than might have ever been the case with the high speed rail project that the Governor rejected back in January, perhaps the single biggest move he has made in the six months that he has led the state of Florida.
