RIck Scott was busted earlier this week by the good folks over at PoliFact regarding where the derivation of the 700,000 jobs that he promised during the campaign a year ago.
You remember of course that one of the Governor's signature campaign statements in 2010 was about how he was going to improve Florida's economy with his "7-7-7" plan, with the key part of being that he was going to attempt to create 700,000 jobs in seven years (Perhaps by the same consultant who gave Herman Cain his 9-9-9 plan?)
At the same time he was saying that, economists were quoted throughout the state as saying that just by natural growth he could achieve or exceed that figure.
When asked about that, Scott said 'oh no, my 700,000 jobs will be in addition to whatever natural growth evolves over the next 7 years.
But in the last couple of months he's changed his tune, and backed off ever saying that the 700,000 jobs would be in addition to natural growth.
Politifact said he was wrong, and today he tried to clear the air, but really didn't in terms of his changing statements. Here's his video statement:
