Sh*t happened 1/26/16: Cops fired, UT bans smoking, pro-life activists indicted

Welcome to Tuesday. To be honest, it won't be all that different than Monday, but it seemed kind of stupid to call it Monday II.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office fired a deputy and several recent recruits who conspired to cheat on Field Training Program exams. We don't get to say it too often, because we expect adults to be adults and all, but that is seriously, SERIOUSLY some high school bullshit right there.

The University of Tampa will ban all smoking and tobacco use on campus, including vaping and e-cigarettes, beginning in August. Enjoy finals week, kids; hope that 96-hour spades tournament quashes your stress levels.

This is neat: The grand jury convened to look into Planned Parenthood clinics in the wake of those heavily edited pro-life propaganda videos found no evidence of wrongdoing, and instead indicted the activist behind the videos for tampering with governmental records and other charges. What's the word for stopping a mission before it's completed? Yeah, they shoulda done that...

And finally, FSU settled its lawsuit with the woman who accused Jameis Winston of sexual assault, for nearly a million bucks, and an agreement on the part of the university to augment its sexual assault awareness programs and bring greater transparency to its procedures. That is all.
