It's Friday, and there is no joy in Mudville.

Well, that's that. Despite the return of Stamkos and a valiant effort on the part of goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy, the Bolts lost Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semis 2-1 and are out of the running for the Stanley Cup. That's all of the poking at the slidey black thing with the bent stick that's gonna happen this year, but our boys poked at the slidey black thing exceptionally well this ice-sliding season, and should be commended for their efforts. It was nice and necessary to see so many people rallying together behind something, rather than against something (or someone) else, this year.

Tampa police seized $500K worth of gross, dangerous not-really-synthetic-marijuana substance Spice from a makeshift lab at a local storage facility. Hey kids, I know you're gonna do what you're gonna do — I'd just like to suggest that maybe one of the things you think about not doing is a drug created behind the rusty roll-up door of a U-Stor-It stall.

And finally, Clearwater police began handing out vouchers good for Tampa Bay Rays game tickets to the owners of locked vehicles. Hmmmm. If only it worked the other way, and there was some sort of price to be paid for doing stupid things...
